Roberto Sironi

Roberto Sironi (b. 1983) is an Italian designer based in Milan. His practice is rooted in a research-driven approach, where thinking and making converge in the creation of artifacts conceived as narrative tools that engage in dialogue with the viewer.

Sironi’s projects emerge from extensive investigations into historical, geographical, and anthropological contexts. The resulting works challenge conventional notions of function, occupying a liminal space between functional object and sculptural artifact.

His practice is grounded in the concept of ‘active matter,’ in which materials are reinterpreted and re-signified, revealing latent properties and generating new layers of meaning. Through various processes of transformation, matter becomes a medium through which cultural, temporal, and symbolic dimensions are continuously negotiated and reframed.

Founded in 2015, his studio operates across multiple fields of design, including product and installation design, strategic research, and consultancy, developing projects in collaboration with institutions, galleries, and brands.

Alongside his practice, Sironi is engaged in teaching and research at the Design Department of Politecnico di Milano, where he focuses on materials and design technologies.
