Eye Idol is a ceramic sculpture that reinterprets some Mesopotamian-era stone figurines found at Tell Brak (ca. 3700–3500 BC) in present-day Syria, where thousands were discovered in a structure now known as the Temple of the Eye. The wide eyes depict attention to the gods, a common theme in much Mesopotamian art.
